News & Notes: Lottery to be used to distribute tickets to local residents for Dalai Lama talk

Local community members will have the opportunity to register online Tuesday Oct. 21to participate in a random drawing for a limited number of free tickets still available for the Dalai Lama’s public address, according to an update on the University event’s website.

Winners of the random drawing will be notified by noon Oct. 22 and will have until 5 p.m. Oct. 24 to claim their ticket at Frist Campus Center.

The venue will seat approximately 4,000 audience members, of which about 1,000 seats are for community members, University Spokesperson Martin Mbugua said, according to Planet Princeton. Mbugua noted that some of the 1,000 tickets available for community members were distributed last month via an online system and were all claimed within three minutes.

The talk, “Develop the Heart”, will be held October 28and is sponsored by the University Office of Religious Life and the Kalmyk Three Jewels Foundation. It will also be streamed live on the Princeton University website.
