News & Notes: Eisgruber ’83, Lempert, town council to meet on Nov. 3

University President Christopher Eisgruber '83 and Mayor Liz Lempert, as well as members of the town council, will meet on Nov. 3 to discuss common interests and concerns, NJ.comreported.

The University has agreed to increase its contributions to the township. The University primarily agreed to help cover the expenses of township services and government to the amount of $21.7 million over seven years. The first payment is $2.75 million and with each year that passes, the payments will increase by 4 percent. The final payment in 2020 will amount to $3.48 million.

The University also plans to help various municipal projects around town, including construction of various facilities and purchase of tools and apparatus for firefighters. The University will also be donating one of its parking lots, valued at $1 million, to the town for future use.
