The door repair happened around 20 minutes before a female caller told the University’s Department of Public Safetyshe had heard the sound of gunshots inside the building, according to a press release issued Thursday night. The call happened at 7:55 p.m., and the worker using the hammer and chisel left the building before the call was made.

The DPS investigation into the matter is now closed.

Local Princeton Police Department officers armed with rifles entered Nassau Hall on Tuesday eveningto inspect the report of gunshots. DPS, an unarmed force, formed an outer perimeter around the building. Two-and-a-half hours after the initial report, it was concluded that the reports were unfounded.
