News & Notes: Local resident charged with drug possession at Frist

An 18-year-old princeton resident was arrested and charged with drug possession and criminal trespass at Frist Campus Center on Tuesday morning.

Kairi Nadre-Dimitri Aeriel was allegedly seen asleep inside Frist in the early hours of Tuesday morning, prompting a call to the University’s Department of Public Safety. The incident was reported at 4:58 a.m. on Tuesday, according to DPS’s daily crime log.

Frist closes at 2 a.m. on Tuesday mornings.

“During questioning he was found to have a small amount of marijuana,” University Spokesperson Martin Mbugua said.

Nadre-Dimitri Aeriel was also issued a 90-day persona non grata by DPS. If seen again on campus, he could be arrested by DPS for defiant trespass, Mbugua explained.

This is the second arrest for drug possession so far this academic year. Neither case involved University students.

Three other drug violations have been reported so far this academic year. The second one, reported on Nov. 2 at Whitman College, resulted in an administrative referral. While DPS can refer students to the administration for these cases, it cannot do so for individuals not affiliated with the University.
