Katherine 'Kaki' Elgin began her work with The Prince her freshman fall as a photographer. The next semester, she joined both the news and multimedia departments.
The spring of her sophomore year, Kaki became the Executive Editor for Photography. During her time with the photography department, she helped develop a new photo website (http://photo.dailyprincetonian.com/), increased the number and regularity of slideshows and more.
Junior fall, Kaki was named Managing Editor of the paper. In the position, Kaki helped to ensure the paper did indeed publish daily and runs the news department.
Spring 2012, she returned to her position in the photography department.
Outside the Prince, Kaki is a junior in the politics department, where she is concentrating on international relations. She is an RCA in Butler College, plays the French horn in the Princeton University Orchestra and occasionally plays for the club tennis team. Kaki enjoys photography, writing, tennis, politics and languages. She speaks French, Swedish and Russian.
Kaki's work in photojournalism began her 10th grade year at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, when she joined the school's yearbook staff. By her senior year, she had become the Photography Editor.
Originally from Virginia, Kaki lives with her parents, two younger sisters and a ridiculous number of pets.
