Vice President for Facilities Michael McKay was named Engineer of the Year by the Professional Engineers Society of Mercer County. He was honored at an awards banquet on Feb. 16.

Under McKay, the University worked to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and install heat recovery units during the construction of its 27-acre solar field in West Windsor. For these practices, the University received the New Jersey Governor’s 2012 Environmental Excellence Award in the Clean Air category.

In his time at the University, McKay has overseen over $200 million in major construction projects, including Whitman and Butler Colleges, Frick Chemistry Laboratory and the neuroscience and psychology building slated for completion this spring.
