Bees?
This is awesome
go ben!
How many chemicals does it take to successfully combat Varroa mites?
How many Varroa mites does it take to collapse a hive?
How may colonies must collapse before their keepers find another hobby or profession(Like the Lumberjacks of Easter Island)?
What if the drastic increase in our Nation's amateur beekeepers has just been adding fuel to the CCD fire: The CCD fire that was initially spread across the country by migratory beekeeping?
Either I or professional entomologists must have the wrong prescription glasses, because what I see is:
Honey bees hives = Varroa mites = Disease = Death to honeybees and wild/native pollinators.
We can replace European honeybee colonies easily, but how do we replace specific species of native pollinators once they are gone?
Native pollinators produce larger, more robust fruit!
Go Native!
