News & Notes: USG committee to pursue election reform
A USG hoc committee is examining ways to improve its election process and plans to make recommendations of revisions to the election handbook for USG Senate approval in January. The formation of the committee follows discussions within the student government about “invisible primaries” that lead to unopposed races.
USG president Bruce Easop ’13 will appoint the committee, which will be comprised of three USG senators, one member of class government and two students unaffiliated with the USG.
In October, the USG modified its election handbook after a student attempted to auction off the Facebook cover photo of the Class of 2016 Facebook page to class government candidates.
