University debates desired qualities in next University president at CPUC open forum

    One attendee advocated for the committee to consider someone with experience as a teacher and researcher, and who could relate to the work at the core of the institution. That's important.

    The position is Cornel West's to accept or reject. He "retired" from Princeton so he could be more aggressive in becoming the next president. He was among the very few who knew of the incumbent's retirement plans long before they were announced.

    The position is David Petraeus' to accept or reject. He "resigned" from the CIA so he could be more aggressive in becoming the next president.

    I can see where this is headed: David Petraeus as president, Cornel West as provost, Hillary Clinton as head football coach.
