Public Safety responded to a report of a bias or hate crime in 1967 Hall in Butler College this weekend.

A racial slur was written on a bulletin wall in the building, according to University Spokesperson Martin Mbugua. The incident occurred sometime between 3:20 a.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday. It was reported to Public Safety at 5:12 p.m. on Sunday.

Mbugua explained that Public Safety was “handling it as a possible bias incident.” A hate crime has not been confirmed on campus in at least the past three years.
