News & Notes: Theological Seminary appoints new president

The Princeton Theological Seminary has chosen a new president to lead the school. M. Craig Barnes, who received his Masters in Divinity from the Seminary in 1981, will begin his term as the school’s 7th president on Jan. 1, succeeding Iain Torrance, who had served as Seminary president since 2004.

Barnes is a reverend who has led congregations in Colorado Springs, Colo., Madison, Wis., Washington, D.C. and currently leads one in Pittsburgh. Barnes earned his Ph.D in American Church History from the University of Chicago and has also served on the Seminary’s Board of Trustees.

This year is the 200th anniversary of the Seminary.
