Georgetown v. Princeton - Live Update
Despite a strong effort from Princeton (0-2), the football team fell 21-20 in a heartbreaking loss to Georgetown (3-1) as the Hoyas came back from a 14-3 first quarter deficit and escape a hungry group of Tigers on the road.
With 14:40 left in the fourth, freshman tailback DiAndre Atwater broke off a 53-yard touchdown run to put the Tigers back on top, 20-18, momentarily stemming the Georgetown comeback.
The Hoyas scored in the third quarter, scoring on a 7-yard run from Hoyas tailback Nick Campanella, but the two-point conversion was bad. Defensive back Jeremy Moore fell on top of a bad Princeton snap in the endzone for Georgetown's first touchdown of the game in the second quarter, but senior defensive lineman Caraun Reid blocked the extra point.
Princeton's first touchdown came missed snap on a field goal which resulted in a 10-yard touchdown pass from senior wide receiver Tom Moak to senior tight end Mark Hayes, while sophomore tailback Will Powers punched it on the ground for a 2-yard touchdown run.
