And you wonder why employers have background checks. This is very embarrassing and should not happen.
This is why I hate how Fire Safety, Public Safety, the end of the year Cleaning Crew and rando contractors can enter your room any time they want at Princeton. They are constantly barging into your room in the morning. They knock once quietly and if you don't answer immediately, they use their keys and just walk into your room. You can be in the shower, in bed, etc. And some have even said you can stay in your bed while they inspect. Clearly I'm not going to stay under a cover in my pajamas while you inspect my room deep-voiced middle-aged man!!!!!!

It is incredible that Princeton would take such a risk with private student rooms in a way that administrators would NEVER behave with their own property. We love Princeton and consider this an inexcusable form of arrogance and neglect.

Unfortunately, you can't rely on the door lock alone, and that usually means having your own security box, or even a full-blown safe. This one will fit a full-size laptop, but there are others that will do in a pinch:

Either way, on or off campus you really need some kind of lock that only you can open.
I thought every locksmith had to pass a background check before they were hired.
Can't believe that the University's allowed this to happen.
