Sports Shorts: Shon shoots plus-6 at NCAA East Regional

Only the top two individuals not playing with one of the top eight teams qualified for the NCAA finals, leaving Shon four shots shy of advancing. Last year, Shon tied for 52nd in regional play, finishing with a final score of plus-11.

Playing at the Penn State Blue Course, Shon opened play with an even-par 72 on Thursday, finishing the first round in a tie for sixth place. A more difficult Friday round of 77 left her needing to make up a lot of ground on Saturday.

Shon made an eagle on her last hole, the par-five 18th, to close the tournament with a one-over-par 73.
