I always knew you were single-minded, Chris.
This column assumes that the only reason we drink is to have fun, a subjective term that often fails to take into account one of the main reasons I drink - to produce a different type of experience than my day-to-day life. For example, I've gotten blackout a number of times, and gotten sick from drinking a number of times. I would not necessarily describe those experiences as fun, but they are certainly more memorable, and often yield stories that give me more net "fun" (or whatever term you prefer) than I get from one night of responsible drinking. How many nights when I responsibly drank do I really remember? Not many, and I'm not actually very proud of that. But the nights where I did something irresponsible and did crazy shit have given me stories which continuously are fun to tell and relive. It's not every night on the street you get bear-ass naked and start singing Queen lyrics at the top of your lungs. I wouldn't have that without irresponsible drinking.
I'm guessing he's still practicing what McGinley preached...
That's sick dude, you must be pretty sweet.
