Michibata got fired. It was a "mutual" decision for him to leave Princeton, he has no job lined up, he wants to continue college coaching, and wants to continue living locally. So basically, a firing.
What would you gain if it was a "firing"? What would you lose if it was a "mutual" decision? Michibata is a proud man, he decided to resign without waiting for a decision from others. This is not what you characterized as a "firing".
Wow, you're a genius. You figured it out. You put together the pieces of this oh-so-complicated puzzle and solved the riddle when nobody else could.
Someday, your career might have a setback or two as most careers do these days. If so, you'll probably be glad that you don't have some idiot making comments about it in a public forum.
I don't know who is that "idiot" who insists that this was a "firing".
what the article should also have mentioned is that michibata was one of the best tennis players to ever come out of canada. good luck in your future endeavours.
Typical Princeton - trash the people who serve with the greatest and highest ideals and professionalism in character, sportsmanship, and pursuit of excellence. Princeton will conduct an "intensive" search and will be lucky to find a candidate with half the ability of Glenn Michibata. A great loss for Princeton, but Glenn will go on to more great accomplishments. Best of luck!
Scout, we both respect and admire Glenn Michibata, and with his credentials, he will be fine! Shrap, there are a lot of good things about Glenn that were never mentioned in any of the articles that have been published - he was inducted to the Canadian Tennis Hall of Fame a couple of years ago.
