is this prince fucking serious? Who really cares about $86 THOUSAND out of an $18 BILLION endowment. Also, whoever the editor was for this article needs to be fired. Unless of course the endowment really did grow over 138,000% over 2 years from 13 MILLION to 18 BILLION

    Please stop

And investing responsibly in Pakistan can be an extremely good thing for the millions and millions of people that live there. Lack of investment is a major reason why their economy sucks and why they have so many problems. Jesus Christ this is one of the dumbest articles I've ever read, on so many levels. Even for Prince standards. Please stop. You are not writing groundbreaking investigative reporting. It's badly written, there are obvious mistakes and the entire premise is dumb (86000?! And not even held anymore?) and even if they were investing in Pakistan you have no idea what you are talking about.

I don't see the issue here. The U.S. itself maintains diplomatic and military relations with Pakistan, and invests in that country.

How dare we invest in an Islam country? The university probably gave our money to some Muslin ter'rists! 'Murica!

    Shut Up

These comments are completely idiotic. News is news - you can't criticize an organization for doing their job. The article is well written, it outlines the story and its background efficiently, and lays out all of the important numbers and facts. It's not the size of the investment that matters, but the fact that there was investment at all. Pakistan harbors terrorists - has everyone forgotten Osama bin Laden already? Calm down you commenters are ridiculous. Get a life, stop trolling on these boards, and write your own paper if you think you can do it better.

Pakistan is a state sponsor of terrorism (Mumbai 26/11 case in point), and its current military leadership (which essentially controls the country) comes from the lineage of military leaders that carried out one of the greatest genocides of the 20th century (East Pakistan/Bangladesh in 1971). So even if the US continues to maintain diplomatic and military relations with Pakistan (out of some Kissingerian realpolitik), doesn't mean the university needs to sponsor it.

I agree, what is wrong with investing in Pakistan? and the Pakistan is a state sponsor of terrorism to the extent that Saudi Arabia is. The United States is also a state sponsor of terrorism, thanks to its original role of being the godfather of Osama bin Laden. Pakistan is a mainstream country with immense strategic, cultural, political and military ties with the United States. Whether we like it or not, the two countries are allies and I don't see what the big deal here is?
