The University must really be gritting its teeth over this. On the one hand, Quad is going to pull a lot of students away from the dining halls. But they say they want people to have choices and not be restricted by money, so they're going to have to smile and go along with it. Maybe Quad will show them it's time to bump up financial aid so poor students can join any club they want? Not counting on it though.

Better than what Campus tried to pull:

This is great news. Regardless of Quad's intention, students now have an equal opportunity to join a club or to participate in another eating option without making considerable sacrifices (and I've heard about these first-hand). Though you may have heard otherwise, it was not a level playing field under the current system, and I think this is a great first step to making the eating club experience accessible to all Princeton students.

Well sure they're trying to get more members. But keep in mind that Quad's demographic is lower income than many other clubs. I think something like a third of their sign-ins had to drop not because they didn't like the club but because they couldn't pay. Many of them minorities. And aside from the impact on membership or the club's finances, that has to take a toll on the psyche of the club. Hopefully now that the money issue is gone the people who like the club can stay in it.

What fantastic news! It's great to see the grad board noticing and responding to the needs of current students.
Even though I loved my time as a member of Quad last year, I was one of many students this year to switch to a dining hall plan solely because of financial difficulties. I'm assuming this is why Quad decided to make the switch. This really is an amazing change for the better of people who are missing out on the fun of being in a club because of their financial situation.

PPF usually updates that website right before sign-ins, so accurate information for the other clubs will probably be published within the next week or so.

I think they mentioned at their open house that it would include social dues. But even with additional social dues,
Quad would still be the least costly club on the Street by a wide margin.
