Time and again the University refused to listen to students on this matter. Student leaders both involved and un-involved with Greek life insisted this was an integral part of the Princeton social scene- or at the very least a matter that didn't affect them at all. If the University was truly interested in showing they cared at all for student opinions then they should have instituted no-tolerance penalties for instances of hazing. I will never donate a penny while Tilghman is in control of the University. She has repeatedly shown she doesn't care to listen to the opinions of the undergrads (and I say this as someone who worked closely on a number of social policies with University admins).

if you think that by banning fraternities i am going to want to be friends with a wider group of people, you're moronic. being in a fraternity did not preclude me from being friends with people outside of it THAT I SHARED INTERESTS WITH. title or not, you're not accomplishing anything. i would have still had the same friends freshman year and done the same fraternity sophomore year (had this rule applied). i am really trying to understand what this is accomplishing. if you argue that it favors wealthier students, that is just a completely false. this board clearly did not look into how the fraternities and sororities work. of course people who cannot pay dues are helped out! tilghman & co., do you research or take a hike. sick of this.

Well now I guess everyone is going to be friends with everyone else. I'm so glad we have central planners telling us how to socialize.

What the fraternities/sororities should do is send out e-mails and letters to their alumni asking them not to donate to Princeton till the policy is changed. But to e-mail Princeton with how much they would of donated if the policy didn't exist.

In 1 month, stupid policy gone.

    Wow

Don't worry everyone. The University has made sure to replace the relationships between freshmen and upperclassmen that frats and sororities can foster. A part of their plan is to have upperclassmen available in the residential colleges to socialize with freshmen...seems flawless
