@library - It certainly has that aura if you aren't affiliated/never go there. Anyway, great article, Dave!

Correction: the Garden Theater is booked by the USG Thursday and Saturday as well as Friday! It's just extra-full on Fridays because of the people who might be at the Street otherwise.

I’m just saying while we’re on the topic of busting myths that generally come from unfamiliarity, might as well bust another one. Just because there's an "aura" and one doesn’t go there doesn’t make it secretive. Anyway, mine was a pointless side comment. Nice article with some nice points.

It's not like Ivy members are all that inclusive, inviting people to meals, giving people passes, hell - even letting in people (who go the same school as you!)

    honor Code

They also need to know more about the Honor Code than "fuhgeddahboutit." For all those students it doesn't affect, those same students know someone whom it impacted. Students wonder about collaboration on problem sets, they attend classes by professors who REMIND them about it (because these professors are vigilant). Students must rat on other students, students must acknowledge conformity with the Code on every graded assignment. If brought to a hearing, an accused student goes before an all student panel, some with NO EXPERIENCE in hearings or in their field (watch out language majors) and with no faculty/administrative oversight during hearings and deliberations. And if they get found guilty by a committee of zealot students, which happens with most hearings, and who might all be members of the same eating club and "are friends", they get punished FOREVER. So FUHGEDDABOUT IT? It doesn't affect much...NOT!!!

Compare Princeton's Honor Code to the codes at your other admitted schools and make an informed choice. The Honor Code is a BIG deal here.

Don't be so quick to lay the blame solely on grad "de/in-flation" policies for your not getting straight A's. College isn't high school. Your college faculty and TAs (all proven scholars in their fields) are going to hold you to a higher standard than your high school teachers did. That's not unique to Princeton.
