Well.. we can thank Malkiel for the wonderful way in which Grade Deflation has dropped our matriculation rate (especially in comparison to Harvard). Hoorah. Looking forward to being #2 for a long time.
I think its interesting that the top two schools in the ranking are the only ones in the top 25 that don't rely on the early admissions crutch to boost the yield rate and reduce the admit rate.
These rankings are always done using arbitrary methods in order to sell magazines and drive up page views. Does anyone actually choose a school based on a place or two in the rankings anyways?
Most admissions officers feel that the rankings have an effect. When Princeton has finished #1, we have been quick to trumpet that fact on the University website.
Thank you Dean Malkiel... no really, thank you. Your grade deflation policy has really worked wonders at this school.
Princeton is #2 in the Forbes ranking, ahead of all other Ivies. For better or worse, the last three Supreme Court justices are Tigers. USNews is just one ranking system. Take a deep breath, everybody, and exhale. The grade inflation in private schools is shameful. See http://gradeinflation.com for details.
Meh, doesn't really matter...Princeton's always no. 1 in my book.
Well, #2 is pretty darn good IMO. We have to get over our massive inferiority complex to the people at Harvard.
from someone who got into both princeton and harvard, it has nothing to do with an inferiority complex, it has to do with Malkiel being the evil monster we know her to be
... Yeah, they do.
