University expects to take roughly 100 students off waitlist to fill demographic gaps
Published: Friday, May 14th, 2010

This is not going to end well for you, Xiafei Zhang.
you will probably have a better time at UChicago. remember, the town of princeton is boring as hell, and UChicago seems like it has a more legit academic scene. if you don't get in off the waitlist consider yourself fortunate. sort of.
Rooting for you, Xiafei
He'll also be able to join his girlfriend, Margaret, so it's quite a heartwarming story.
what a tool. Seriously, this school sucks as is, we don't need more of your Woody Woo Wanna be's.
Seriously, a Princeton concert? Disappointment.
Earlier, Princeton admitted 2,148 to the Class of 2014. If as many as 100 are taken off the waitlist, that will mean a minimum of 2,248 admits. If the goal is a class the same size as last year - 1,320 freshmen - then the yield rate will be down to 58.7% from 59.8% last year.
Not quite right on your figures. Schools often report a preliminary yield in May but that's before waitlist activity. Princeton actually had a 57.9% yield for last year's class (1,320 students out of 2,281 offers of admission including waitlist offers). This year it looks like it will be around 59% after the waitlist activity. You're comparing an estimated post waitlist percentage for this year with a pre-waitlist percentage for last year.
What happened to the claim that there are no "quotas" at Princeton?
Xiafei - if you don't know the difference between your and you're, you don't deserve to go to Princeton (or even Chicago)
How do we even know that the above post is actually from Xiafei? If he is wise, he probably wouldn't be crudely insulting other posters in a public location where admissions officers could access it.
Then again, "Princeton Lunchfest" does sound incredibly fanatical.
