Naaaah. Kagan never advocated socialism or a more leftist left. Naaah. Nothing to see here. Just move along.

Does anyone thing any of the "courageous" Republican "conservative" senators on the Judiciary Committee will ask Elana Kagan something along the lines of the following:

“Ms. Kagan, your Princeton thesis lamented the failure of the socialists in New York City in the early 20th Century and then you said, in a letter published on November 10, 1980,

In my more rational moments, I can now argue that . . . a new, revitalized, perhaps more leftist left will once again come to the fore. I can say in these moments that one election year does not the death of liberalism make and that 1980 might even help the liberal camp by forcing it to come to grips with the need for organization and unity.

“With that in mind, do you classify yourself as a socialist? A progressive? A leftist? A communist? Do you still favor a more leftist left over a less leftist left?”

Probably not. So, Keith Overbite might call the senator a bad name.

Pathetic. Don’t expect any courage from any of the Republican senators. Courage just doesn't seem to exist among conservative elected servants, especially in the Senate.

So Elena Kagan formally acknowledges that her background is in a left wing echo chamber, which she never escaped, yet we are expected to believe that she will be a fair and unbiased jurist. She has no judicial rulings, no writings and no other public assertions to support such an assertion.

Barack Obama is trying to foist an unabashed socialist on us in a lifetime appointment and no one seems to care.

Fear not Anita. Many people care. One only need to read BHO's
own book on Dreams of my Father to see how the man thinks. Why
would he choose anyone different than his own manifest misgivings
about America? Look at the other people he has surrounded himself
with at the White House. Even the "mush for brains" muffins
at Princeton can figure it all out. Few, though, really are
there to expand their minds beyond the garbage they have grown
up with on TV. Does anyone really think that she will drop
her long held beliefs about our country and its founders or our
Constitution? Tune in to watch how she goes about hoodwinking
each and every person in the Senate by not saying anything of
substance and then sit back and hold on to your seat. It does
not take a fertile mind to imagine what she will set about to do
on the Supreme Court. God save our country.
