Assuming you're still in Oxford, I sincerely doubt the corner of the pub is smoky, else you'll be paying for more than a pint.
Why not? It's called the drinking age.
Oh, and "gerede" is German. It means something like "gossip." I welcome the occasional linguistic ger toshav, but I'm not sure why we needed this German interloper when the English word would have sufficed.
