"I think more important than me being political is asking why everybody else is so apolitical."

So spoke Felipe Andres Coronel, better known by his stage name Immortal Technique, in an interview before his performance tonight at Terrace Club. It ...

"If you come to me respectfully with honest questions and disagreements"

Mr. Technique, I feel that you have an amazing flow and a level of political consciousness that exceeds most rappers. However, I disagree with your stance on homosexuals, as evidenced by your lyrics:

"Immortal Technique incinerate degenerate fags / Burn Trent Lott wrapped in his Confederate flag"

How do you square the fact that you have made a career on a condemnation of capitalism whilst allowing your record to be priced according to the free market? Or that you constantly carry the banner for civil rights advances while denigrating homosexuals in your lyrics?

And more importantly, why did the author not ask any of these questions?

I look forward to your response!

Nice article. @Tech, I think tech learnt his lesson and stopped using the word "fag"/"faggot" etc in 2007. He does not say that on tracks anymore.

Few mistakes in this article. The track is titled "Bin Laden" not "bush knocked down the towers". Also its not "Dancing With The Devil" it's "Dance With The Devil". And "Creation & Destruction" certainly not one of his "best" tracks but whatever, you should say thats your opinion, peace!

Hey teach why don't you do some research before talking about something you don't know? Technique encourages people to freely download and distribute his music!

Ex-felon? It may be true he was convicted, but where did he go to prison as he claims he spent so much time locked in solitary confinement? He puts on a great act.
