HELLO!!!!!!!!! I am not a Rat I am a Human and I don't think that we are anywhere close to being rats! DUH!
Geez Marty - thanks for the astute, well documented peer-reviewed rebuttal of this research.
You might want to research why white rats are used in lab research before you spout off next time. For one thing, it's unethical and virtually impossible to do this kind of research on humans.
Fat makes you Fat - eat lean chicken no skin
Why is a psychology professor researching high fructose corn syrup?
Tell us something we DON'T know.
A psychology professor is doing the research because of the fact that brain circuitry is being changed by eating habits, i.e. behavior. Read "The End of Overeating: Taking Control of the American Appetite" (Rodale) by Dr. David A. Kessler, MD, former head of the FDA.
Hasn't high fructose corn syrup always been worse than sugar?
"For one thing, it's unethical..." And why exactly is it worse to conduct research on consenting adults than it would be on animals incapable of informed consent?
Also, check http://arstechnica.com/science/news/2010/03/doe... for some critical thoughts on the studies.

Whether or not HFCS is worse for you than sugar should not be the main battle for anti-obesity activists. The author touched on it, but government subsidies for corn farmers makes HFCS extremely inexpensive, driving up the consumption of Cokes and other sugary drinks. It's not whether corn syrup is worse for you, it's how much you consume.
