The new chemistry building construction site, Jadwin Hall, Icahn Laboratory and the architecture laboratory were evacuated after Public Safety received an “unsubstantiated” report of a bomb threat to the construction site on March 12.

An “all clear” was issued later ...

Oh dear!! How did the threat message exactly look like? I mean was it a terrorist threat?

No, the infrastructure is not at ALL dysfunctional here at Princeton. I work in Schultz and use Icahn and was not notified of this at all - I heard it by rumor at 1:15pm.

Is no one else surprised that Public Safety didn't issue a campus-wide alert?

Pton '13 asks, "Who the hell would threaten Princeton?" All it takes is one nut. You are too young to remember the so-called, Unabomber, now identified as Ted Kaczynski, but from 1978 to 1995, he sent 16 bombs to targets including universities and airlines, killing three people and injuring 23.
Every threat, however unsubstantiated, has to be treated as real, until proven otherwise.

@holt-- when I was in high school, we had about one bomb threat per month. the admins (somehow) knew how to differentiate the idiot ones from the just-might-be-true ones. you can't take every bomb threat seriously or you're giving every kid that doesn't want to go to class a free pass (as long as they can do it without getting caught)

I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone who hadn't prepared enough for a midterm in Icahn or Jadwin. Given those buildings were evacuated as well, they may have been mentioned by name.
