How is this about investment banking? Seriously?

    ALSO:

Not many people use Career Services to its full extent,” said Nam, who applied for internships in investment banking and computing. “When I show up to walk-ins or ... appointments, often the schedule is surprisingly bare compared to the number of students who, in my opinion, should be working on their resumes.”

Um, Career Services is not that empty. Trust me. There's a lot of tools (like Nam) that practically live there.

I believe that Career Services is an important and useful resource that many students on campus, unlike what the author suggests, utilize. Furthermore, Career Services provides valuable assistance to students who seek it out, whether you need to edit your resume, work on a cover letter or practice for interviews. It was astonishing to read such criticism of a valuable and helpful resource on campus. Perhaps the more pertinent question to consider is has the author ever visited Career Services or consulted with a counselor or even considered if they could be of any help? I personally have meet with a counselor. I understand and know firsthand that the counselors can provide great advice and guidance. In response to the assertion that "Career Services do much more in helping identify non-finance, non law oriented careers", I would pose the question did you attend the Summer Internship fair or Science Internship Panel or even the Columbia Publishing Course Info Session, or the Green Internship Panel? Because all of these different events are a testament to the array of opportunities that Career Services seeks out for students. If you attended any of these events or bothered to visit the Career Services website or office, you would be aware of all the services and opportunities that are offered.

    Hello Friends,

I want to thank you for all the continuous positivity and great content. I too was affected by this current monstrosity of an economy. Just thought I would share something easy and proven, that has been life changing. http://ping.fm/VYOfL This has become a way of life and has allowed me to help so many. It doesn't cost anything to look at.

    Much Success,
