    Woof.

I hypothesize 85-99% of all red Solo cups on campus are used for the consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Someone please make a study on this.

    Thank you.

@negrodamus: i dunno, maybe it's because people like you are killing the music/movie industry by blatantly stealing the fruit of other people's labor?

however, i don't understand why this topic is thesis-worthy, or even a compsci project. anyone could take a random sample of torrents and show that the majority of available files are copyrighted.

a better project might be to devise a program that will auto-scan files to see if the material is copyrighted (is that possible?). Offer the program to BitTorrent; if they're really trying to discourage piracy, they'll implement it gladly. Their inevitable reluctance to do so will expose them as facilitators.

why 4 '10's? how about just one?

He'd be better off licensing it to specific outfits like MediaDefender to help further their e-thuggery, actually.

and a company that develops said protocol: http://www.bittorrent.com/company/overview

That being said, any and all such nuances are lost when the clobber-pronoun "they" enters the fray.

The BitTorrent company is not responsible for the abuse of its technology. In fact the company has partnerships with most film companies.
Looks like you need to do some research or stick to studying classics.
