I prefer the print edition's headline: "Authors Compare Gender Inequity to Totalitarianism." Feminists have just failed Godwin's Law.
Many less developed countries have social systems that parallel biological function...out of necessity. Did the authors address this and, if so, did they predict whether these societies would devolve into chaos if there were a push for gender equity without the development of an economy that could support same? Is the imposition of gender equity on less developed societies a form of cultural imperialism?
For the record, I support gender equity. The United States itself has a long way to go; for example, women should register for the draft, be subject to the draft and should be permitted to serve in combat. The requirement for combat should be mental toughness and physical capability, not gender.
