No one listens to WPRB except the people who have shows who think they are really cool but actually just have horrible shows. WPRB is turning the way of Cap

Did you miss the point of the story (you could be excused, so did the writers)? Its not for your enjoyment. They don't give a damn about college listeners. They broadcast to 5 million people, why should they give a shit what college kids think?

They certainly don't donate any money, and it is a listener supported station.

Some of the shows can be a bit ridiculous but a lot of them are fantastic. If you can ignore the shows where some pretentious hipster is playing noise music you'll find some amazing shows for stuff like jazz and classical and world music.

WPRB was NEVER a pirate radio station. When the station signed on on December 6, 1940, from 441 Pyne Hall as WPRU, the signal was transmitted via carrier current Carrier current signals--then and now--do not require a broadcast license to operate. The station has had an FCC license since it begin FM broadcasts on November 10, 1955, as WPRB-FM. WPRB-AM continued to be broadcast to campus via carrier current until 1963 or 1964.

John, let's not get violent. You're too good of a man and disc jockey to stoop to that level.

W & PRB: I think I can speak for the entire WPRB staff by saying that we care about all of our listeners, whether that be on Princeton's campus, Philadelphia, New Egypt, or Graterford State Prison. Our mission as disc jockeys, sports announcers, and newscasters is to present the best possible product to our audiences as we possibly can. Sure, some people may not like one program or another, but the programming aired on WPRB is--for the most part--some of the strongest content broadcast in the Delaware Valley.

Anonymous, if you think you can do better than the current set of jocks, come on down to WPRB and take part in DJ training. We'd be happy to school you in the finer points of FCC regulations, equipment operation, and broadcast theory.

    Regards,

    Ian Paul Auzenne
    Sports Director
    WPRB-FM, Princeton
