U. opposed to two-ply toilet paper in campus bathrooms
Published: Friday, December 4th, 2009
Recent campaigning in the race for USG president has centered on a seemingly inane, if potentially sensitive, topic: toilet paper. Former candidate Brian Edwards ’11 and current candidate Jack Lindeman ’11 have both publicly declared their support for a campus-wide ...(back to the article)

Makes sense.
An it's hard to run against sustainability.
This article is nauseating on so many levels. Who gives a shit?
Two ply toilet paper would actually save money because people would use less and waste less. It would not "double the level of use" as Ms. Cliatt says. It would also be more sustainable because it would last longer. The one ply product deteriorates so quickly.
"Cliatt explained that the University currently purchases a “mid-level toilet tissue” that is higher in quality than the most basic commercially available products."
I've never heard greater balderdash about our TP.
You know what's even more sustainable? Reusable rocks. Why does Ms. Cliatt hate the environment by even buying toilet paper?
Even the Newark Airport has better toilet paper than Princeton dorms.
"as two-ply toilet tissue almost invariably doubles the amount of use"
...or it could halve the amount sheet-wise that we currently use, meaning we'd be using the same amount. i'm pretty sure if i used the same amount with 2-ply sheet-wise as i do now, the toilet would overflow with tp.
In my opinion, should potential applicants learn about this, it will cost Princeton dearly in cross-admit competition with Yale and Harvard - a far more compelling matter than grade deflation.
I bet if Princeton changed to 2Ply, everyone would rate a significant increase in our quality of life and academic experience here.
“[The University’s current toilet paper choice] speaks to where Princeton’s priorities are: service to the nation and all nations.”
my security word was laugh. perfect
