The two mugs sit side by side in the kitchen cabinet. One is adorned with “Princeton University,” followed by the signature orange and black crest. The other is crimson in color with “Harvard University” spanning the ceramic face. The mugs ...(back to the article)

Beautifully written.
Let's not be disingenuous here - Samantha Batel was rejected by Harvard. Otherwise, she would be there now with a probability > 90% (80% Yield + legacy).
So you cope with your feelings of rejection by writing for the Prince, Samantha, but you're not kidding anyone. You did not choose Princeton over Harvard, rather you picked it as a second option after Harvard turned you down.
"An interesting aside" - face it, Samantha Batel - it's not interesting.
Poorly written article.
definitely a poorly-thought out article, offers nothing new or interesting. i wouldn't be surprised if harvard rejected her and i am surprised she made it into Princeton. @another orange-crimosn sister: do you have no critical analysis ability? you belong elsewhere, as well.
this article comes off as very toolish
Because the author is a tool?
lol a bit harsh guys? i liked it... had the naive innocence of a freshman splattered all over it, but somewhat endearing.
except i don't know anyone battling it out for A+'s... let's just be grateful for our A's, shall we?
Ban Freshmen from the Prince
Oh commenters above, little harsh there guys. Guaranteed the author got into Harvard and chose Princeton instead. I think we'd agree she made the right choice!
This is a nice column. Though it's hard to feel respect and admiration toward our rival school when they get A's so much more easily than we do. Thanks Dean M.
Author, don't let the trolls bring you down. You clearly have great potential as a columnist.
If she had gotten into Harvard she would have mentioned in the article why she chose Princeton. She did not. Likely she has not recovered from that rejection letter in April.
