no, girls at KAUST can't wear the same thing that they do at princeton. you won't find any girls walking around with a tank top, flip flops and short shorts with "JUICY" written on the butt. you meant (or rather you didn't, you simply didn't know) that while women have to dress modestly, women don't have to wear a headcovering at KAUST. unfortunately for you, my dear president, this isn't "unusual" as you say it is: foreign women, which make up almost all of the class's females, don't have to wear headscarves in all of jeddah or any of the oil bases that have american families living on them. but i hope you liked your trip!

The idea that Saudi Arabia, the Sharia state, would allow women to do most anything is incredulous. How do the women get to school? They cannot drive under Saudi's Sharia law.
And to #10 here are 10 reasons some say "EEEEEK" when confronting Muslims.
-1- ``Fighting is prescribed for you'' (Koran 2:216);
-2- ``Slay them wherever you find them'' (Koran 4:89);
-3- ``Fight the idolators utterly'' (Koran 9:36);
4- Rather than regarding women as human beings equal to men, the Koran likens a woman to a field (tilth), to be used by a man as he wills: "Your women are a tilth for you (to cultivate) so go to your tilth as ye will" (2:223).
5- The Koran also declares that a woman's testimony is worth half that of a man: "Get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her" (2:282).
and such hadiths as the one related by Bukhari and Muslim that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said:
It allows men to marry up to four wives, and have sex with slave girls also: "If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, marry women of your choice, two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice" (4:3).

Another reason Islam has a long way to come. Perhaps in 3-400 years will Saudi Islam be as liberalized as Princeton is today.
I think if ppl in princeton want KSA to be like them, why dont try themselves to be like KSA? Guys you think what you are doing is right, the same we think. Then just live and let live or else, the consequences are what each of us is seeing. If the West was not to impose its stupid culture in the East, the world would be peaceful. Dumb americans..

The US doesn't "impose its culture" on anyone. Nor does the West in general do so. The US isn't out there forcing people at gunpoint to shop at the GAP or watch MTV or drink Budweiser or eat at McDonalds or any other "cultural" thing common in America.
Also - whatever you think about the West, there is no reason to think that "the world would be peaceful" if only they did something differently (or stopped doing something).
the better way for women education was seperate schools and colleges but time has now turned to the wester domination embraching our muslim world
