If he lost the trust and support of his players, how did they finish the year 3-1, and upset Yale? Was Paski wrong the other day in giving Hughes, along with the assistants and players, credit for keeping the team focused and rallying for a good end of the season?

Coach Hughes is a good man as you stated, he also was a good coach, sometimes its just time to change, "losing his team" is not really backed up by the facts. It's time to move on and find that new coach, how about some ideas, anyone?

The Yale game was not an upset. With the exception of the Colgate game, which Princeton should have won also, it was the first time we used Kenny Guenther extensively at running back, which balanced out our attack, opened up the passing game for Tommy, and ultimately kept the defense off the field for extended periods of time. Hence, they were fresher and more able to stop Yale's offense more effectively. This formula also worked at Dartmouth. Losing Jordan was a huge blow, both emotionally and on the field for this team, but Kenny was available, and went virtually unused. It was these type of decisions that ultimately led to the need for a change at head coach.
