Hooray!
But next time, it would be nice if the writer told us how long the race was when he started listing times--rather than slipping it in at the end and leaving us to conjecture that the men's race is the same length as the women's race--which would be false (unless they're running 3 min miles...)
Those girls in the picture all appear to have eating disorders. That picture is so disturbing. Something about this doesn't seem healthy, it worries me
Congratulations to our women's cross country team, one of the most outstanding sports teams in Princeton's and the Ivy League's history! Special kudos to senior Liz Costello for her significant accomplishments over the years.
The Women ran a 6K. And they are to be congratulated... all of them. If you've ever seen them running as a group along the towpath or some of the area roads out towards the Battlefield, etc., you know that they are a hard working, great looking group. Like some other Princeton athletes, they are among the best in the country-- but few cheer for them in a stadium on Saturday. Each of the women on the team shares in this finish-- with special congratulations to co-captains Liz Costello and Reilly Kiernan, and not to be forgotten, coach Pete Farrell.
Three Cheers. We are proud of you!
Congratulations to the women's XC team. It was the most consistently excellent varsity team at Princeton throughout the fall. As a recreational runner with a daughter who was captain of her XC high school team, and a father who was on Princeton's varsity XC team in the 40s, I am well aware of the rigors of training and racing, so the comment by "'10" about the activity as being something "unhealthy" seems inappropriate and even ludicrous. These women are beautiful, and there is no way they could possibly start and finish their races were they not in the best, healthiest shape of their lives. Again, kudos to Ms. Costello, her teammates and coaches for their hard work and savvy racing. It all paid off, and they made it look like fun!
