Library will not cut student jobs or reduce hours

The University library system is reducing its operational costs and freezing its acquisition budget but will not reduce its hours or lay off any student employees, University Librarian Karin Trainer said in an e-mail.

    Honestly?

    People are paid 12/hour to make photocopies and check out books

    They're paid 14/hour to sit at a desk and answer question like "where's the photocopier."

    Princeton would save SO much money if student pay rates were cut. I'd gladly take a .30 reduction if it meant that hardworking lower-middle-class employees got to keep their jobs.

    For most people, their jobs are part of work-study financial aid. That's why it's so high.
