"Voting will begin Monday at noon and will be open until noon Wednesday. Results are not scheduled to be released until the Sunday after."

We plan to have preliminary counts released Thursday night or Friday. Only if someone lodges a formal complaint to the elections manager by Friday at noon might these results be in question until Sunday, pending the decision of the senate. But we should all know numbers before the weekend begins. Vote counts will be revealed for all positions and all candidates.

@Pappenfus. A word to the wise: unless the Class of 2013 is full of a bunch of ignorant fools, suggesting a repeat of the boat fiasco is not a good idea.

“I’ve run a zero-cost campaign. I’m giving my $30 campaign money over to our class fund, where I feel it can be better used for everyone’s benefit,” Ding wrote on his Facebook group page.

How does that make him a tool? Sure, it can *seem* a bit gimmicky, but I see no evidence that he's being insincere.

You don't actually get $30, you're allowed to "spend" the equivalent of it in printing flyers. Come onnnn

    Hey guys,
I've noticed the comments about the $30 issue and felt obliged to make a few comments of my own here.
Taking on the role of Treasurer means taking on the spirit of fiscal responsibility. There are four main goals of my campaign: transparency, fairness, efficiency and flexibility. If we spend money more carefully, making savings in smaller projects here and there, and just in general reducing inefficiencies, the class will have a lot more money to spend on the bigger events and projects that we do care about. There was a comment made earlier that a repeat of the boat fiasco is not a good idea. But would it change anything if all 1,300 students in our class were able to go? What I'm trying to work towards would take us a step in that direction. Small gestures amount to big differences, and there is no reason to not begin embodying that philosophy on the campaign trail. I mean this in the most sincere possible light. I will fight for my $30 to be transferred to the 2013 class fund, once it is set up. The $30 belongs to the USG anyway, so this shouldn’t be too hard to do.
While it is true that it is difficult to run a campaign without money, and that in some ways I will be disadvantaged, I feel that it is entirely viable. I’m going to make an emphasis on online campaigning and word of mouth, before doing something big the day before voting. It might indeed be slightly tool-ish of me to brandish this zero-cost principle as some kind of selling point, were it not for the fact that I want to let people know the reason why they haven’t perhaps heard as much about me as the other candidates.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to link you to my facebook group, which does a lot more justice to my campaign than this article does. In it I describe why I am running and what I hope to achieve.

Do let me know if you have any other comments or suggestions. I’d be happy to address them all, and I appreciate the questions this has already generated.
    Best,
    Xiang

You'd have to rent out an effing cruise ship to get 1300 people on a boat.
    Not possible, you fail Xiang
