Contrary to stereotype, Princeton students aren’t shy and retiring when it comes to LGBT rights activism. Last fall, two satirical LGBT-related protests — one in opposition to California’s Proposition 8 and one in opposition to the Princeton-headquartered National Organization ...(back to the article)

Are you including "at will" states in your count? If so, that's a bit disingenuous and I'm pretty sure at least 22 states have made firing employees based on sexual orientation illegal, so your count is off anyway.
Also, I'm pretty sure those opposed to "LGBT rights" (is this the politically correct term to use now?) would be more than happy to have the same result of the Bonus Army's march.
AH, did I just read your comment correctly? Are you insinuating that those opposed to LGBT rights would love to see peaceful marchers, both LGBT and ally, attacked by the US Army? The "result" of the Bonus Army's march was bayonets and gas, injury and death. Thank you for your honesty--you're made it apparent that there isn't much difference between opposing civil rights for a minority group and wanting them dead.
Do I smell a straw man?
@Abby '11 -- Reading comprehension and historical knowledge are not your strong suites. Is the only thing you know about the Bonus Army the fact that they were attacked or were you aware that they utterly failed at accomplishing what they set out to do through the march?
@AH -- Spelling and historical knowledge are not your strong SUITS. The expression derives from cards.
Yay Emily!! I'm inspired!
I don't care about "mistakes and misspellings" here, the gist of the story is important, if you care about injustice and equality you go to DC, if misspellings are more important stay at home and shut up.
Good article.
Emily, thank you for your courage and leadership. I can't wait for the march.
"if you care about injustice and equality you go to DC, if misspellings are more important stay at home and shut up"
Lol thanks for giving us all an easy way out
some of the posters here need to scale down their arrogance. in my opinion, the Bonus Army's willingness to risk and then actually experience the Army's brutality commends their courage and does not equal defeat. speaking truth to power is expensive, but it is also honorable.
