Wow I wonder why!
1. The ability to coach along with his son.
2. Maybe the money? ESPN reported he signed a contract worth $250,000
my bad, i checked the stats and he will actually he will be making LESS money than he did at Princeton. so i guess for the ability to spread lax to the west.
I guess you have to hope that he isn't leaving because of any issues he had with the school, and that it's completely so he can be with his family and so that he can boost lax's popularity out west, both of which are fine reasons for leaving.
if the guy wants to retire to Denver, he probably can't wait to get a head start on it. Sounds like he had a great time here, but just wants to go to the next stage in his life. Thanks and good luck.
Tierney earned the right to make this decision. While his sideline behavior was nothing he nor alums were proud of, he is a man of high principle, quality and integrity. I just hope he and Walters had a succession plan in mind for this inevitable end, and that the players will embrace the change.
Oh, the Prince! First, check out the Dateline on this article. June 3? You think they have been sitting on it for a week, or you think that once again they have facts wrong.
Then there's this sentence: Over the last seven years, the team struggled at times. Princeton reached the Final Four in 2004 but has not been back since.
Making it to the Final Four annually apparently is expected by the writer. Go figure.
The class of 2008 was the first class recruited by Tierney not to make it to the final four. So yes, given the ridiculous standards Tierney set, missing the final four qualifies as struggling. Check your facts before you BS.
The criticism "Princeton reached the Final Four in 2004 but has not been back since" does not imply "Making it to the Final Four annually apparently is expected by the writer" since 5 seasons have elapsed since then.
hmm maybe he'll groom Trevor to coach Princeton sometime in the future
