Princeton ballet’s long-awaited ‘Debut’ is no disappointment
Published: Friday, May 8th, 2009
A quick disclaimer: I know nothing about ballet. Nothing at all, even for a boy. But as the dancers in the Princeton University Ballet (snappily shortened to PUB) repeatedly told me, no one at Princeton knows anything about ballet. Break-dancing ...(back to the article)

Yay P-U-BBBBB
Vice President of PUB here, just to clarify, PUBers reassured Adam (the reporter) that his lack of ballet knowledge should not stop him from reviewing our show, not because no one at Princeton knows anything about ballet, but because we did not know of anyone else at the Princetonian (Daily Princetonian, that is) who is particularly knowledgeable of ballet.
Thanks to Adam for a great review! And thanks to the audience for their creative PUB cheers!
What an exciting addition to the campus experience. This is a great opportunity for students to get an introduction and probably an initial insight into a world of beauty and athleticism. As a “ballet Dad” I had the pleasure of growing into a lover of this art form through the eyes of our daughter as she progressed from the local pre-k program to the local ballet school and then on to San Francisco Ballet school. The discipline and focus that she acquired carries on to this day even though she had to “retire” at age 13 because of injury.
Congratulations to the Princeton University Ballet in its first of many “seasons” and to the University administration for its obvious support. (Incidentally, I only participated in football as an undergraduate.) Bravo! Brava!!
YAY PUBBBBBBBBBBB!!! CONGRATUALTIONS TO A WONDERFUL AND TALENTED GROUP FO DANCERS!!!!

virginia byron is awesome.
a-tan wins again. love the review, and the show deserves it!
Congratulations! I was one of those highly trained ballet dancers who never really got the chance to perform ballet during my Princeton years. The administration better throw weighty support behind this group. There is no reason ballet dancers should have to give up their craft upon entering college. 3 or 4x/week classes, former principal dancers as frequent teachers--why should dance be the one art form that Princeton does half-way?
