ok, so the thetas represent all greek life on campus now?
i can understand shirley's point about pton wanting to discourage frosh from joining frats and sororities in the beginning of the year because they won't be able to encounter the 'other,' but the same thing can happen with any group you join your freshman fall.
Would no one else go on record here? A couple thetas do not represent Greek life. If people refuse to comment the article should at least note that otherwise the reporter looks like they're just lazy, inept, or both.
this article is very poorly researched -- you don't have a quote from a single frat member? really? and only two people from one sorority would speak to you?
we're not really meant to talk to 'the press', but I am certain there are a lot of girls who would be thrilled to talk about what a positive experience their sorority has been for them. Greek life isn't for everyone and people will get different things out of it; that's fine. but people should be able to find out what they want to do for themselves. the administration should stay out of it. and articles about it should at least be decently researched.
Why do they send letters warning about Greek organizations but not a cappella groups? No kind of student group contributes less to campus life (and society in general) than a cappella.
Brandon Lowden, your comment made me LOL.
why would rawls agree to be quoted, so toolish
go tighlman!
One of the greatest things about Princeton is that it has nearly purged itself of the stupidity that is Greek Life. The University does not need to be run by a bunch of hazing, elitist, binge-drinkers. There are more productive activities for students to engage in, and I applaud the University for substantially reducing student pressure to commit to a frat.
Joining a sorority or a frat is like admitting in public, "Hey, I'm so boring, I have to buy my friends."
Purd - you are an immense tool.
