A female University student reported that she had been assaulted by a man who physically restrained her and “reached under her clothes to touch her” at roughly 3:20 a.m. Sunday, the Department of Public Safety announced in a ...(back to the article)

CDY's email about maybe, sorta losing one band for Lawnparties earns a breaking news report on the front page. But PSafety emails about an actual criminal on campus get pushed to Monday. Yeah, that makes sense.
I wonder how many prefrosh will show up with pepper spray on Thursday...
is pepper spray legal in NJ? darn liberals are trying to keep us from protecting ourselves.
maybe we'll have a return of the blackbox hoodlums from last year's prefrosh weekend... how's that for your yield, Princeton?
Public Safety is going to have to heighten their presence during early morning hours on the weekends, and not for the purpose of conducting sobriety tests. Long-term, access to the campus will be restricted.
agreed with "so?"
this was a GIANT coverup for pre frosh weekend
The Prince is Tighlman's lap dog
PUBLIC SAFETY TALKS A mean talk when it comes to stopping parties, but the truth of the matter is that they are nowhere to be found on campus at night. That something like this would happen is inevitable. My friend on the Lacrosse team, a large, strong guy, was walking home alone late at night from the library and twisted his ankle. There was no one around RIGHT in front of Whig for an HOUR while he regained the strength to get up....does PSafe know that this is the only campus without officers patrolling for anything other than parties?
The Daily Princetonian is showing that its goal is not to report to students, but to please the administration
AGREED with above.wooohooo CASS CLIAT STRIKES AGAIN with lies and wrongly placed blame! I am a freshman and already I am do distrustful. The email said that public safety would ramp up security. They obviously can't be everywhere, but the sentiment should have been one of protection. Cliatt instead made a statement that is shameful and mean by placing the blame at all on the girl that this happened to with her "students shouldn't be walking alone late at night".
She wasn't causing trouble or doing anything wrong, she just didn't have a boyfriend to talk her home and wasn't hooking up with anyone. What is she supposed to do, cry and sleep at an eating club?
By placing blame upon women at al, Cliatt is engaging in irreponsible behavior
Jeez … is Princeton turning into another New Haven?
I totally agree with '12 that Cliatt's comments were out of line. The spokeperson at an Ivy League institution should know that making comments like that could be hurtful to the victim and also not focusing on the real problem, which is the policing of our tiny campus.
My uncle is a police officer in CA and I fwd'ed this to him. He has visited campus and said that with even the measley resourses that an average university with much less money spends on security, our tiny patch of campus could be patrolled in literally every quad, no problem. If not for permanent, the police should at least ramp it up till this guy gets caught.
