I feel like I'm talking to a wall. The mandatory reporting requirement in USG Election R & R ยง 1.3(b) includes vote tallies. Regardless of what may have been done in the past, the Elections Managers are obligated to "publicly announc[e] results including vote counts." Kepner-Kraus is wrong.

Weak reporting by the Prince. Where does it say that Wienberg was under threat of disqualification? Where does it say that the revote was canceled minutes before it was scheduled? Where does it say that Kepner Krauss didnt consult the senate before calling it off? Where does it say that Kepner Krauss abdicated his responsibility as Elections Manager and as a result was completely incompetent? Step it up, Prince!

Why would Weinberg have been disqualified?

USG - Stop wasting our time with petty and personal quarrels. We elect you to serve our interests and represent this school. Sending me 15 emails about this BS serves neither cause. You are embarrassing your constituency.

This article makes it seem like anyone outside of the USG cares about these results. More importantly than election reform, let's have the USG start to become a more influential and more representative arm of the undergraduate body. The student government during my years at high school was more influential in the student body's lives than USG was during my 4 years at Princeton.

The USG CAN be that organization if we elect people who take it seriously. Josh Weinstein saw the USG as nothing more than a line in his resume and as a way to give sinecure jobs to his friends (ie Mike Weinberg being paid University money to be ExComm Secretary). The Prince needs to report on what happened in this election. If we let these kind of underhanded tactics go unanswered we are effectively condoning it for the future. We are going to see a lot more incompetent USG officials and a lot more stupid emails unless we speak out now.

That's ironic - because Josh told me that Jay told him "I helped you win the election, that means I get an appointed position, right? That's how it works" Sorry you didn't get one Jay - suck it up. If you think Josh only did it for a line on his resume, why did you help him?

I agree with Will Scharf. In the Constitution, it specifically states, Article VII, Section A 3. "The Elections Managers have the following responsibilities"... part b) "Organizing the tabulation of electronic votes through the USG Webmasters and the Office of the Registrar, and for publicly announcing results including vote counts;" Braeden is required to release the vote count. He can't politely decline. That is bullshit and further undermines the legitimacy of USG.

Here is a link to the Constitution. I think people should e-mail Braeden and remind him of his Constitutional duties.
