Where does the law derive its power?....from the people.
Princeton preps have no idea that marriage is for children and children's rights. Your equality argument is disingenuous.

    A Princeton prep

Your 'Princeton preps' snark identifies your inferiority complex, and your 'children's rights' whine is a slap in the face to all (straight, mind you) couples who choose or are unable to have kids. I'd tell you to get better arguments, but bigots have inherent difficulty with the concept.

    No More US with Bailouts

There is only a certain amount that the leader of Iran and Bin Laden\'s group can do about Hollywood. Who would have known that the economy would do this work without us? Some say the US has doubled the national debt with these bailouts and nothing works. So where did all the money go? to Hollywood to continue to their war to takeover the world or is Wall street setting up this situation? When the US interest payment on the national debt reaches half the federal budget then the US is finished as a world power

Oh wow, I always thought that Princetonians were progressive, liberal, forward-looking people. Never knew that some people are just a bunch of retards. Marriage doesn't necessarily mean children too!

    sorry too many typos
    Here is my post again
    Gay marriage is an oxymoron.
It is based on the rejection of the opposite sex and it violates the fundamnetal right of children to have and be raised by their own father and mother.
    It is sefish and crual
A sperm, a dad, an egg, a mom are a unit that should no be broken.
Gay "marriage" is really against evolution and is regressive

    Good.

I think this is a great idea. Even though lesbian and gay couples cannot obtain a marriage license in California (and other states across the country), Princeton should recognize self-identified married couples whether they are same-sex or opposite-sex couples. Anyone can have a marriage as recognized by family, friends, and private institutions, even if the state doesn't recognize it. Also, it's pretty clear that Freddie and soleil10 should just be ignored until they say something logical. I mean soleil10 is particularly bonkers. Is it cruel for a gay couple to adopt a child and give him or her a loving and supportive home, when otherwise that child might stay in the foster system through age 18? I think not.

    Another Princeton prep

I agree with Freddie and soleil10. Children cannot have rights outside of traditional nuclear families. This is why, among heterosexual couples, there are no instances of child abuse or neglect. Furthermore, a mother, a father, and their combined gametes are absolutely inseparable, a fact obviously recognized and supported by all non-crazy-leftist Americans. This is why adoption and divorce are both illegal.

Awful. What in the hell do University trustees have to do with Proposition 8 in Calfornia? This is student activism at its worst. Good student activism involves persuasion, not an attempt to bully the other side by getting the University on your side. If this goes through, it would represent a major stifling of the free exchange of ideas at Princeton. The University MUST remain neutral!

Shirley Tilghman is right...the University has no business signing onto something like this.
