    duh, again

it would have been insightful to have included statistics whether or not this decline in citations correlates with a rise in drunk-driving accidents in the area.
    another ineffectively researched prince article.

The main reason is because the two officers who routinely led the department in DWI arrests have been transferred to the detective unit. Officers Allie and Basatemur made dozens dui of arrests combined. With them out of the loop and not in a police cruiser looking for impaired drivers, the numbers would be lower.

I guess not as many cops are going to get promotions. They should go to Washington and ask them to bail out the police industry.

    Reality

The reason why citations are down is because the borough cops are hiding behind bushes on Prospect when they should be out on Nassau St. preventing serious injuries from DUIs.

Or could it be the local police have to babysit the underage PU students who can't handle themselves during alcohol related issues. Instead, the police and first aid people are responding to ambulance requests at the eating clubs or infirmary in order to take drunken students to the local hospital. Everyone loves to complain when they get caught doing something wrong. I have a simple solution. Why don't PU students just obey the law rather than feel they are above them?
