Why I should feel guilty about hating jury duty

I have to do jury duty over winter break. I know it's my civic duty; I know that it's part of being a good American, which since last Tuesday is something I suddenly really want to be. But ...(back to the article)

    You know, you are not required to do jury duty if you are a full-time student at a university. i got called for jury duty in october right before midterms week and would've had to miss classes and tests, but I told them I'm a student and they were like "ok cya later!" I don't feel like I'm wriggling out of my duty because full-time students are not required to do jury duty, just like minors are not required to do jury duty. Some day, when you are actually required to go to jury duty, you will go.

    there are actual exemptions for jury duty, if you havent already looked
    into them. this is quite apart from the questions of how much actual
    justice exists in the justice system, and whether we have the right, if
    not the duty, to try the fitness of the law as well as the facts of the case.
