Written by Adam Tanaka, Staff Writer

Ten years ago, Oasis was the biggest band in the world. It was compared to the Beatles, to Led Zeppelin, to The Who - to basically every big, dumb, classic rock band there ever was - and it spearheaded a long-delayed second ...(back to the article)

Adam, a few corrections. Noel Gallagher is well respected in the British media, considered one of the UK's best song-writers of the last 20 years. A self-made man from a troubled childhood involving a drunk father who regularly beat both he and brother Liam, Noel later became responsible for reinvigorating the British music scene.
Noel was against Jay-Z headlining Glatsonbury because the festival has a rock tradition and many agreed with his view (personally i dont).

Noel is far from a laughing stock in England, he's extremely loved by loads of people all over the world. every album they've released have gone #1(whether deserving or not) in the UK. I think you're over playing the has been thing. it would have been more appropriate before 2005's don't believe the truth album, after which their renaissance began. massive tour, i think the album was #13 in the US. which is not bad. DOYS was #5.

oasis are the greatest band there is. there supposedly bad albums are
still really good. Oasis can never make a totally bad album. People just
say its bad cause they compare it to DM and morning glory. But come on,
think about it, all their albums, including the supposedly bad ones, reached number one in the UK. and all albums except dm reached top 30 in the US. oasis are over-criticized. DBTT is reach #12 in US, while Dig out is currently #5. Oasis are the best.

has it occurred to you that oasis may not think they need to stage a "comeback"?

If they are considered "Hurrendously uncool" why in a poll conducted
in 2007 to find the 100 coolest men in Britain voted by 90,000 people
did Noel come in at No.1 & Liam No.22? Every one of there albums have
gone staight to no.1 in Britain (and several other countries) and
as for being popular in America, they still sell out places such as The
Hollywood bowl, Red Rocks,Madison Square Gardens etc. in very little
time (some cases under an hour) & all of of their albums (except their debute 'Definately Maybe') have been in the top 30 over there.
So I would do some reserch next time because clearly you don't have a
    clue what you're talking about.

'In the British media, songwriter Noel Gallagher is a laughingstock'.
this is complete nonsense! good comment by sjc. noel gallagher is indeed highly respected in the british media. this is being reinforced by many of the UK's current top bands citing oasis as a major influence (arctic monkeys, kasabian). arguably still the biggest band in the uk, oasis will go down in history as one of the all time greats.

WAKE THE FUCK UP MAN!
