Yay. Kudos to the donors! Despite my dislike of the current "fad", there are definitely positives to be gained in the area. I am so glad these donations weren't for the "arts" -- why can't we let Yale keep those?

This is amazing, but it certainly took long enough. A donation toward environmental research could have been so timely about 10 or so years ago - not just now that 'greening' the US is a fad. That said, I'm glad Princeton is finally making sustainability part of it's focus, it's lagging behind other schools in terms of an energy-efficient campus (if not in its premier stabilization wedges research!).

Ironic that the environmentalism you cite as stupidity saves money, irrespective of the environment. Kind of like better fuel efficiency regulations would have done...

It is sad that so much money is being frittered away on what is largely a non-issue, namely environmentalism and "sustainability". Any economic benefits from combating global warming are far outweighed by the costs, and debate on these issues resembles religion rather than levelheaded policy.

Environmentalism is the new idolatry of the unchurched like President Tilghman. Are these donors trying to clear their names like Peter Lewis? I just hope the Lewis Library isn't sub-prime or filled with marijuana smoke when it opens. All hail King Compact Fluorescent Lightbulb!

I enjoy Prince bashing as much as the next guy, but over the summer? Come on now. Have some decorum.

one would think that such a big news story would be promptly covered by the Prince... but of course it took them more than a day to write a couple of paragraphs. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
