    @ both anons: Yea, the USG hasn't done anything, but screwing up their election system is a pretty basic error that just further undermines whatever shreds of credibility they had before. It makes them into even more of a laughingstock, and that does hurt them.

    @09: agreed. i can't point to anything meaningful the USG has ever done to benefit my life at princeton other than putting on a study break here and there. and how hard can that be, anyway?

    Seriously? The lack of public confidence in the USG has nothing to do with its electoral methods, and everything to do with its general impotence and incompetence. At this point, no one really cares whether it uses an STV system or a lottery.
